LOX PERSONAL PROTECTION EQUIPMENT

Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) must be worn when filling, draining or purging LOX or other cryogenic devices.  The extreme cold of the liquid can freeze unprotected skin cause severe frostbite.

Essex offers face shields, cryogenic aprons and cryogenic gloves available separately or in kits.

Actual items may vary slightly in appearance from those pictured.

500 GALLON LOX TRAILER

The 500 Gallon LOX Trailer is a mobile liquid oxygen storage tank assembly.  Designed for the transport and storage of LOX at airbases and military installations, the 500 Gallon LOX Trailer provides a logistics solution for flight line LOX requirements.

The 500 Gallon LOX Trailer can be used with all Essex LOX Converters, BMOS, BMOS-FS, MMOS, NPTLOX, PTLOX and 50 Gallon LOX Carts.

A 500 Gallon LIN Trailer for the transport and storage of liquid nitrogen is also available.

Both 500 Gallon Trailers are qualified to Air Force PD13WRGRVEA05 and tested to MIL-STD-810.

LIN FILLER VALVES

LIN Filler Valves are specifically designed to service liquid nitrogen (LIN) systems for military aircraft.  They automatically open and close when activated by the mating component.  Pin quantity and size variations are provided for proper coupling.  Valves can be modified to meet specific customer requirements. Perform in accordance with MIL-PRF-38201.

10 LITER LOX READY TO INSTALL (RTI)

The 10 Liter LOX Ready to Install (RTI) system supplies oxygen to medevac patients.  It provides a safe, compact and lightweight means of storing gaseous oxygen.  The RTI consists of a 10 liter LOX converter with a heat exchanger and regulator mounted inside a sheet metal enclosure.  This configuration allows installation of the equipment on the aircraft without the expense of a costly retrofit.

The 10 Liter LOX Converter within the RTI supplies up to 8,600 gaseous liters of oxygen at 70 psig.  It is designed to MIL-DTL-19803 and tested to MIL-STD-810.  The 10 Liter LOX RTI weighs approximately 50 pounds empty and 75 pounds when full.   The enclosure mounts with four aircraft seat track fittings.

LOX FILL, BUILDUP AND VENT VALVE

The LOX Fill, Buildup and Vent Valve is a semi-automatic valve that provides a safe means to control flow during filling operation of liquid oxygen converters. A specially-designed valve connection mates with standard LOX ground handling devices. When coupled to this device, the internal valve mechanisms simultaneously allow for the venting of oxygen gas within the converter and the transfer of liquid oxygen into the converter. When disconnected, these mechanisms automatically close, allowing the pressure build-up process to begin. The Essex LOX Fill, Buildup and Vent Valve is a CRU-50/A connection and is QPL approved to MIL-V-25961.

LOX CHECK VALVE

The LOX Check Valve is designed to operate with either liquid or gaseous oxygen.  An elastomer seal ensures zero leakage when the application  involves gaseous oxygen.  The valve has an operating pressure of 300 psi and a temperature range of -300°F to +260°F.

LOX FILLER VALVES

LOX Filler Valves are specifically designed to service liquid oxygen (LOX) systems for military aircraft.  They automatically open and close when activated by the mating component.  Pin quantity and size variations are provided for proper coupling.  Valves can be modified to meet specific customer requirements. These LOX valves are designated as CRU-59/E.  They perform in accordance with MIL-PRF-38201.
