This valve adds the feature of an electro-thermal link to the Essex thermal shut-off ball valve. The link will react when subjected to heat or to a low-power electrical impulse, such as those found on most smoke or gas detectors. The electro-thermal shut-off ball valve can be used with electrical signaling systems which are activated by heat, smoke, gas, flame-energy, maximum temperature or rate of temperature rise.
Valve sizes range from 1/4″ to 4″, and are available in a variety of metals, including stainless steel, carbon steel, monel, Inconel, hastelloy B & C and alloy 20.
Typical applications include shutting down hazardous lines or activating sprinkler systems for fire control.
